Inspired by the pioneering textiles of the Bauhaus movement—and debuting 100 years after the legendary design school’s founding—Heddle is a bold exploration of weaving, structure, and color. This richly dimensional design juxtaposes areas of graphic, floating yarns with flat-woven fields of subtle stripes, creating a dynamic interplay of texture and pattern. Woven with approximately 50% more yarns than Chilewich’s signature Basketweave, Heddle is the heaviest and most substantial fabric ever created for the table.

Named for a fundamental component of the loom, Heddle reflects the artistry behind its construction. In weaving, each warp yarn passes through the eye of a heddle—much like threading a needle—and the controlled movement of these heddles forms intricate weave structures. This thoughtful craftsmanship is evident in every detail of the finished textile.

Made in the USA, each placemat is crafted from TerraStrand® yarns containing 25% renewable vegetable content and is free of phthalates. Designed for both indoor and outdoor use, Heddle offers exceptional durability with a refined, modern aesthetic. Available in four colorways and a range of pattern expressions—including geometric, plaid, and stripe—this collection brings architectural depth to the table.

Care & Maintenance
Easy to clean, simply wipe with soap and water and allow to air dry. For more thorough cleaning, spray with soapy water, scrub gently with a soft-bristle brush, or soak and rinse. Avoid alcohol-based or citrus cleaners, as well as dishwashers, washing machines, ironing, or heat drying. A high-temperature sanitizer may be used occasionally (up to once per week).

Storage
Store placemats flat. Do not fold, crease, or store while wet. If creasing occurs, gently steam with a handheld garment steamer on the lowest setting.
