With lively yet refined rows of interlocking concentric circles, Overshot is a contemporary interpretation of traditional textiles. The design is named for an historic weave structure in which the weft yarn “shoots” over the foundational plain weave of the warp yarns, creating a distinctive decorative pattern layer.
Inspired by vintage American coverlets—woven textiles that served as the topmost bed covering in the early to mid-19th century—Overshot honors a craft tradition that continues today. The result is a pattern that feels both graphic and timeless, bridging heritage design with modern performance.
Crafted in the USA from innovative TerraStrand® yarns, these placemats are phthalate-free, made with 25% renewable vegetable content, and designed for long-lasting use indoors or out. Unbacked and fully reversible, they wipe clean easily and retain their beauty through years of daily dining.

General Shipping Information
We currently ship within the contiguous United States. Shipping fees are calculated at checkout based on the size and weight of your items.
Parcel-sized orders ship via UPS, FedEx, or USPS. Please note there may be a brief delay between label creation and carrier pickup.
Delivery timelines provided on product pages are estimates and may vary due to carrier or vendor delays.
Furniture Shipping & Delivery
Many furniture pieces ship directly from our vendors and may require additional handling time. Estimated ship times are listed on each product page.
Furniture may be delivered via third-party freight carriers during standard weekday delivery hours. The carrier will contact you directly to schedule delivery when applicable.
Please inspect all furniture carefully upon delivery. If visible damage is present, refuse the shipment and note “damaged” on the delivery paperwork. Failure to report damage at the time of delivery may prevent us from filing a claim on your behalf.
All furniture damage claims must be reported to info@spottedwhale.com within 24 hours of delivery.
Returns Policy
We have a 7-day return policy from the date you receive your order.
To be eligible for a return:
- Items must be unused and in the same condition you received them
- Tags must be attached
- Items must be in original packaging
- Proof of purchase is required

Returns must be approved prior to being sent back. Items returned without prior authorization will not be accepted.
Customers are responsible for all return shipping costs.

Damages & Order Issues
Please inspect your order upon arrival. If you receive a defective, damaged, or incorrect item, contact us immediately at info@spottedwhale.com so we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
Refunds
Once we receive and inspect your approved return, we will notify you whether your refund has been approved.
If approved, refunds will be issued to your original payment method within 10 business days. Please note that your bank or credit card company may require additional time to process and post the refund.
